Presidents Day Project
For Presidents Day today we learned about Abraham Lincoln. Here are some pictures of Sam making a replica of Lincoln's Log Cabin. Check out Mr Lincoln peeking out the window! Oh, ssshhh - don't tell Sam that other kids were out of school today:)

The Book Meme
Karla at Ainsley's Mom tagged me for a Book Meme. I've never done this before, so we'll see if I do it right!
"Many schools, public and private, tend to treat the fine arts as extracurricular or (even worse!) as "specials."
The implication is that these exist outside of the normal core of the formal curriculum.
On the contrary, it is particularly fitting that the Christian school expose students both to the study and creation of art."
Ok, I don't really know 5 other people who blog well enough to tag them, so I'm going to have to tag 3 people :) I tag -

Here are the rules:
- Pick up the nearest book of at least 123 pages.
- Open the book to page 123.
- Find the 5th sentence.
- Post the next 3 sentences.
- Tag 5 people.

Happy Valentines Day!
We had a great Valentine's Day in the Glas house this year! We surprised the kids with McDonald's for breakfast (nutritious, I know). Jack chose to eat his in bed, but Sam being the more anal one wasn't crazy about the idea of getting crumbs in her bed :)

The kids and I made strawberry cupcakes, and they were lovely on our new cupcake stand!

My parents came over for dinner, and I made heart shaped pizzas for everyone! One vegetable - with red bell peppers, green bell peppers, garlic, onion, chopped black olives and mushrooms. The other half cheese/half sausage and mushroom. Both were 100% organic and whole grain - and of course, delicious!

Pizza Dough Recipe - This is super simple and delicious. Plus, the exact same recipe can be used for baking bread!
4 cups whole wheat flour
2 cups warm water
1 envelope yeast
2 T honey
2 T olive oil
1 tsp salt
Mix, kneed dough, then roll onto pizza pan! Voila, so easy you'll never order delivery again!
For bread - mix, kneed, let rise for an hour or so, then bake! When baking bread, I usually add about 3 T of Flax Seeds.
