The kids and I hit a few yard sales around 10:00 this morning, not sure if we'd find any great deals so late in the day (for yard-sales at least). We were so excited to find this beautiful doll house for Sam though! It included lots of furniture, dolls and accessories too! We got home with it about 12:30, it is 4:15 now and they have LITERALLY been playing with it the whole time we've been home! Sam even ate her lunch sitting on the floor right next to it. It's completely worth having to deal with the grumpy old man who yelled at me for parking in front of his house :-)

Best $20 I've Spent!

St. Jude's Trike-A-Thon
Sam and Jack participated in a St Jude's Trike-A-Thon this week, and they had a blast. They were very proud to be able to raise some money to help the kids at St. Jude's, and have been thinking of some other ways they can help too. It was a beautiful day to ride bikes, sunny but not too hot. Sam was super proud to be the first one to cross the finish line, even though it wasn't a race at all. She has her mother's competitive nature, I guess :)
Jack was pulled over, and had to show his license! We had the kids stop and show their "drivers license" a few times, to give them a chance to stop and catch their breath for a second. They loved it!

Jack's Sunday Afternoon Haircut :-)
Ok, so Jack HATES having his hair cut. He usually cries the entire time, no matter what we do. Anyone who knows Jack will say this doesn't seem like him at all, yeah - we don't get it either. Kids are weird sometimes. Anyway, his hair had gotten quite long and because it's so curly it becomes pretty unmanageable. So, in the car on the way home from church last Sunday this is the conversation between Jack and Daddy -
Daddy - Jack, buddy I'd like to give you a haircut before you go to church with Grandaddy tonight.
Jack - (instant tears) I don't want a hair cut.
Daddy - I'm sorry buddy, we have to do it. It won't take long, I promise.
Jack - Haircuts are not fun! My hair looks fine!
Daddy - Well, lets think of something to make it more fun then.
Jack - Would you...wear underwear on your head while you cut it? (hysterical laughter)
Daddy - Uhhh...
Jack - Then I won't cry cause I'll be laughing!
Daddy - Ok, deal. As soon as we finish eating, you can pick out the underwear!
You can tell in the pictures, he still didn't love the haircut. But he did stick to his word about not crying!
