The Best Kind of Piano...
...is a FREE piano! Honestly, though, I would have paid money for this piano - it's beautiful, and in excellent condition. We've all had a blast playing it the last couple of weeks.

School Days, and God's Grace
We've had a a busy (and sometimes stressful) month. Everyone is still adjusting to the new schedules, and the intense workload of the Veritas program. With my mom's illness this month, the kids have done their schoolwork in all kinds of places - the car, Ms Karla's house, FedEx, Aunt Kellye's house, and even the hospital waiting room! Without the help of Karla, Aunt Lindy, and of course Daddy - we never would have finished everything we needed to in the last 2 weeks. (Mom is cancer free, and recovering well!)
Here is a picture of Samantha and Ainsley the day Ms Karla was her teacher. They had so much fun doing their school work together, and Ms Karla had lots of fun Fall activities planned for the girls as well...

Here are a couple of other pictures of the kids doing their work in our school room at home -

Jack got really into designing his own flag!

Memory Verses
Sam and Jack each have to learn a Bible verse every week, and they have to be able to say them from memory by Thursday. Here are each of their verses for this week -
Jack - "God formed man from the dust of the earth." Genesis 2:7
Samantha - "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed. For the Lord thy God is with the withersoever thou goest." Joshua 1:9

Sam's First Day of School
Samantha had her first day at the Veritas Classical School last Thursday. She will go one day a week with other homeschool students, and then work at home the rest of the week. She was so excited that morning, she could barely contain herself! When we picked her up that afternoon, she was bouncing with excitement, talking non-stop about her new friends and teacher.
She was also very happy that she got to see her friend Ainsley during lunch and play time. Ainsley is the daughter of one of my dearest friends, Karla.
Jack is also going to school, a Pre-K program, two days a week. He absolutely loves it! They are both having a little bit of a hard time being apart from each other a couple days a week, but they're getting used to it and it's probably good for them. I pray that they'll always love each other as much as they do now.

ELVIS LIVES!!
August 2008 - Vacation
July 2008 - Birthdays!
In July we celebrated my and Lindy's birthdays! We all had such a fantastic time together! Lindy came down for the weekend, and Mom, Dad and Kellye all came over. We enjoyed steaks at Logan's for dinner, and then came back home for dessert. Lindy and I were both overwhelmed by the amazing gifts that we received from everyone. We all laughed So hard, and enjoyed being together. Kellye spent the night, and then stayed through lunch the next day hanging out with us and playing the Wii. Definitely my most memorable birthday so far!

June 2008 - Father's Day
Father's Day was well...interesting! We had a great church service at Living Hope, and Kellye was there visiting with us. Then, Mom and Dad came to our house for lunch. We grilled out, and had a nice relaxing lunch. Brian and Dad got into a conversation about the plans Brian has for the yard, and before we knew it they were out back with a chainsaw. They decided to cut down one of the trees in the back that is dead. They SAY they did everything right, but somehow the tree ended up within a few feet of falling on our neighbors brand new fence! Yikes! Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of the sequence of events. I've never seen Brian or Dad move so quickly before! You can see our neighbor in a couple of pictures too - once he realized his fence was in danger he moved pretty quickly as well!
